ART
REQUIREMENTS
We use Macintosh computers for the highest quality graphics. Please
submit any digital artwork in MAC format. We accept PC or Mac-compatible
files on 3.5" floppy disks, 100MB Zip Disks, or CDR Media.
Please include a hard copy for reference. You may also e-mail files.
Files may be compressed with .zip compression.
We accept:
(In order of preference)
•Adobe Illustrator (.EPS) version 10 or lower (.AI, .EPS,
.PDF)
•Adobe Photoshop 4.0 or higher (.TIF, .BMP, .PSD)
•“Camera Ready” art (high resolution black &
white)
•Color Printouts can be used, high resolution images
work the best
Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) works if it was created in Illustrator.
Please make sure all placed raster images are either embedded in
the vector file, or include the raster images along with the vector
file.
Raster images are often linked to a location on your hard drive
by default, and will not be present in the actual vector file.
If your files were created in Corel Draw, you must first export
to .eps
If the file is not in one of the above formats, there will be an
art charge
to try and recreate it.
We DO NOT accept:
Publisher
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Office
Low Resolution JPEGs
IMPORTANT: Artwork or pictures found on the internet rarely work,
especially small photo-realistic pictures.
If submitting digital artwork, please refer to the additional requirements
below. Please supply a black and white or color printout for each
file.
DIGITAL ART REQUIREMENTS
Illustrator files:
Save all Illustrator files in .EPS format with Illustrator 8 compatibility.
Please make sure all text is converted to outlines, paths, or curves.
Use custom spot colors, including black.
For WHITE ink, use a neutral gray custom color and rename it "White
Spot".
Please make file ACTUAL SIZE in inches (call for standards and maximums).
Try to avoid using "strokes (outlines)". Strokes are,
at times difficult to trap.
Photoshop files:
Save one color images in grayscale mode (decreases file size).
JPEGs and Internet downloaded images are not suggested due to their
low 72 dpi resolution.
